Dear Students and Parents,
The Administration and Staff at VHS will be available to assist you in every way possible. There are many opportunities for you, so be sure and take advantage of them! Your high school years will provide some of your best memories as you go through life. We are excited at Varnado High School to be part of your high school life.
It is with great honor that I announce that our school was awarded the Bronze Medal Award for 2009 by the U.S. News & World Report. We have been recognized as being one of the best public high schools in the nation. To view data collected in conjunction with this award you may visit the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools page. You may also visit the School Matters website. Follow the Daily News link to see local information printed about VHS receiving this prestigious award.
We constantly strive to offer our students the best education possible. Parents play a large role in this effort. We are a team working to educate our students for the world that awaits their arrival as contributing adults. I ask that each parent become actively involved in their child's total school program. You may access your child's records (academic achievement, attendance, discipline and other pertinent information) by visiting the Parent Communication Center. If you do not have an account, you may set one up. Contact the school for assistance in doing this.
Yours for a Better Varnado High School!
Emma Jean Ross, Principal
