Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to Varnado High School. A special greeting, to the freshmen class and transfer students joining the VHS Family this year. We know it is hard leaving friends and acquaintances, but you will have the great opportunity to get to know many of our fine VHS students.
High school is a time of change. The workload and social adjustments are greater here than in junior high. We have implemented a "Freshmen Success Academy" though our 9th grade Redesign Initiative grant for high school students this year. All freshmen will be enrolled in this dynamic program during the first semester. This is a unique program loaded with an abundance of information that will be helpful throughout you high school years. You will be expected to attend school regularly, complete all class work and assignments, and behave appropriately. Your year at VHS will be exciting and filled with many new challenges and opportunities..
The Administration and Staff at VHS will be available to assist you in every way possible. There are many opportunities for you, so be sure and take advantage of them!
